项目详情

The building design originates from South Harlem’s rich history, materiality, and cultural significance. Establishing a masonry base to match the street wall of the early 20th century brownstones along Central Park North.

The tower that sits above is uniquely positioned within the city, and features incredible views of Central Park, midtown Manhattan, the East River, and Harlem from the full floor amenity and residences. The form of the tower responds to the extraordinary views by establishing a stand at the precipice of the building and look out over the surrounding neighborhoods. The combination of the sinuous terracotta façade frame and the angular bay window glazing within each unit creates a depth to the façade and highlights a unique texture of shadow, light, opacity, and transparency across the building.

Unlike its historic neighbors, the base of Central Park North is designed to invite the community into the local museum that occupies the lowest two stories. The undulating form of the residential tower frames are extended into the stone base to telegraph the communal use of the first two floors of the building and invite the public into the building.

The residential layouts within the massing are diverse in size, orientation, and affordability allowing a mixed income structure throughout the building. Each unit has access to the full floor amenity and roof deck featuring an outdoor kitchen, lounge, and workout areas. To supplement the building form, the design incorporates environmental features that promote energy efficiency including solar panels, rainwater harvesting systems, green roofs, zero waste operational initiatives, and efficient HVAC systems.
