New York Studio capitalizes on the city’s high-energy atmosphere

Two years ago, our New York studio outgrew their previous workspace. Fast forward to today, and our East Coast designers are taking advantage of the vivacious energy the city has to offer with its open office plan and specialty spaces. Since then, this location has received extensive recognition in publications such as Dezeen and Forbes—which named it one of “the most spectacular offices in the world” out of a slew of 25 other workplace interiors—and was also longlisted in Dezeen’s inaugural Dezeen Awards. This was all while developing notable projects such as Manhatta and Bay Room, The Amberly and the Over/Under Kiosks.

Director Sarah Kay and Principal Wade Little conceptualized the design for the studio, which is located at 30 Broad Street in Manhattan. With roughly 11,000 square meters to work with, the layout includes multiple social spaces, collaboration areas, and personal workstations to elevate both clients’ and employees’ experiences.

The studio’s industrial style emulates the city’s grittiness and compact nature with raw concrete columns, floors and exposed pipes that are juxtaposed with softer decorations such as lounges with ash grey couches and chairs, soft drapery and indoor plants. At the widest part of the office, employees work at four large walnut laminate workbenches acting as personal desks. The studio’s technical designers also enjoy bespoke areas that include a 3D printer, robotic arm and a virtual reality lounge where clients and employees can experience the progress of projects.
