Victoria University’s Sunshine Skills Hub wins Best of Year Award

Woods Bagot’s global studio is celebrating with four Australian project teams and clients on being honored in the 2020 Interior Design magazine’s international Best of Year Awards.
 
Victoria University’s Sunshine Skills Hub – a state of the art simulated learning facility in western Melbourne that serves the area’s developing communities and supports workers transitioning from a declining manufacturing-based economy into new jobs – is the category winner for Education: Higher Learning.
 
Three entries were named Honorees in their respective categories:
  • Sculptform Showroom, Melbourne – International Showroom/Tradeshow Booth
  • BHP Headquarters, Adelaide – Large Corporate Office
  • 347 Kent Street, Sydney – Commercial Lobby & Amenity Space

State-of-the-art simulated learning facility targets skills shortages in health, community services and trades in Melbourne’s west.

Sculptform

Sculptform produces feature wall, ceiling, and façade systems, naturally they manufactured the undulating timber ceiling. What visitors will experience in the city showroom is a physical connection to their work – something that can’t be found online. The feature lighting is by Rakumba Lighting , who will share the space in a creative partnership between the two businesses.

BHP Adelaide

The vision for the BHP Adelaide office was created collaboratively with BHP’s Leadership team during a prior due diligence project led by Woods Bagot and refined in the briefing stage.
